Journal #35

This last hollyweek has been one of my favorites. The reason is because my parent came from Mexico to visit me. I did not care of anything but just being with them. I did not go to work those days. I went only to school. Homeworks were the last thing on my mind. I just did few of them just to not miss all. I missed one day of school also. I was so happy they were here. They stayed here for two short weeks. I am going to visit them on June. Once we finish school, I will work one more month then go to Mexico.

Journal #34

If I have to choose one of the topics, I choose accomplish things. Being popular is not been important to me. I prefer have my own friends and have fun with them. Being organized is just a step to accomplish your things. It helps you but is not all what I need to success. So, the most important for me is to accomplish things or goals. Also, some important points to me are to have a positive attitude and work as much as I can. Acocmplishmy duties makes me feel better and think that I can do as much as others do. I have the capacity to be better just putting some energy on my duties. One example is the I have accomplished my goal of has learned English. Another is that I have been able to take care of my self without my parents. I know I will keep acomplishings through my life.

The Valley's first 100-degree day arrived at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The weather is changing very fast. We will be facing the worst weather in Arizona very soon. Probably, next month we would turn on our air conditioners. Personally, I this is the part I do not like about living here in Phoenix, the hot weather. Everything would be better if the weather could change, but it is something impossible. I think the weather is getting worst every single year. Once the summer is here, we everybody start to get mad. There was an article on the news about some people who gets angry once the summer starts.

The American Revolutionary War (1775–1783), also known as the American War of Independence, was a war between the Kingdom of Great Britain and the thirteen "United Colonies". Knowing about AmericanHistory is very interesting. History is one of my favorite subjects. I realized in thsi article that American and Latin American countries have alot of similarities. First, all coutries had a revolution. They fought to become independence countries . Also they fought agianst mostly European countries. Furthermore, I lerned the this country was bigger than what it is today. Canda was part of the United States. There are many interesting facts to know about American History.

TOKYO - "Spider-Man 3" made its global debut in Tokyo on Monday.

Last weekend I went to theater to watch a movie and I saw the Spider Man 3 Previews. I realized it was a great movie. Many fiction is shown there. Also, it has new characters on it. Spider has been one of the best movies ever in the U.S. I have an opinion about the debut of Spider man 3 in Tokio. I suppose the movie was made here and the characters are American. Why the movie made its debut in Tokio? They should made its debut here where it was made. However, I am not going to miss te debut here. Spider Man 3 looks an interesting movie to watch.

I would not like to be famous becuase it is hard to be dealing with all your duties. No body have said the the work is bad for your help but I do not like it. Once you are famous you need to deal with a lot of duties. First of all your aparience with others has to be perfect. It is really necessary to take care of your body. Diets, cirugies and all that stuff are very are hard to handle with. Also, my privacy is something really important. The people want to know about famous artist so they do whatever to know them. That is what I do not like. People talk about others with out any respect in mind.

This weekend was a good one. Friday, I started to do some homework from my RDG091. I had a lot of assigments that we should turn in in last week but I did not. So, that day I spen almost all the day doing homework. At afternoon I watched a movie called "Hitch". Will Amith played on it besides Eva Mendez. I went to bed around eleven o'clock. Saturday I went with my aunt to see what was going on. We went to church then to 35 avenue. At night we went to a party that we were invited to. It was so boring that me and my cousins decided go to the movies. We watched Red Line. Yesterday I just sat and did some math homework. I watched some TV before go to sleep.

"A gunman opened fire in a dormitory and classroom at Virginia Tech, situated in the city of Blacksburg in southwest Virginia, killing at least 21 people." These types of incidents have no excuse. How come a guy can hold a gun inside the school and kill students. The school must the sufficient security to do not let guns get into the school. It unbelieveable that the authorities can not stop this still. It no t something new. This has happened before and there is still happeninig. Goverment must do something quickly.

Today, I must start doing the unfinished assigments left. I have not done sice assigment 12. Now have the enough time to achieve it. Last weeks I was busy because my parents were here. Also. I need to work on my journals and on the commentings paragraphs. After I have finished all this duities, I will try to find a job. I need it because I want to go to Mexico on June. Furhermore having a job I must start to save all the money I earn. I used to spen almost all of it, that is why now I do not have nothing. It is neccessary to change my attitude to get good grade in these last days of school.

Jesse Woodson James (September 5, 1847 – April 3, 1882) was an American outlaw, the most famous member of the James-Younger gang. Since his death, Jesse James has become a figure of folklore. He has at times, and mostly inaccurately, been labeled a gunfighter I like a lot this type of documents about old legends and famous robbers during the Mid Western. My great grand father use to tale us stories about the old times in Mexico. My GGfather participated in a small war in Mexico. The Mexico's President wanted to close all the churches. So, citizens turned against the goverment and started to fight. Anyways, this little biograpphy about Jesse Woodson reminded me how my GGfather was involucrated in this type of adventures.

The best thing about this class is that we use most of the time online resources to do the homeworks. This a great a advantage becuse we do not have to use paper. Having a lot of papaer in the bag is uncomfortable. Also, when you are looking for a specific paper, we can not find it as fast as in the computer. Furthermore, having a computer has another great Having internet in home, you do not have to turn in your work in class. We have the chance to submit by blackboard. So we have al the entire da to have done the work. With a computer is easily to organize the assigments and essays with out lost them. These are just some privileges having this class.

Mike Pegram, an owner of 19 Phoenix-area McDonald's franchises, has installed exercise bicycles connected to video games at two restaurants, in Tempe and Chandler. Pegram said he figures it is one way to get video-game-addicted kids to exercise. I think this is a good begining to make the youngers get use to a exercising life. Kids here in the U.S. are alike more to gain weight easily. Thanks to the popular fast food restaurants the diet customs are being forgotten. It is an exellent idea to indtall this kind of bycicles in the restaurant. Kids will enjoy the video game and lose some extra punds at the same time. In brief, it could be great that this man put more bycicles every where in the entire valley.

This weekend was very borind due to I stayed in home. Friday I took m my car to be fixed and I left it. It was the reason that I stayed in home. When I have m car I use to go out anywhere but never stay in home. I did some homework to spend the time doing something. I watched some TV but I do not like it. I only like to watch music videos but they became complete boring. Today is Tuesday and they haven' t release my car. I would never notice but it is hard to get rid of something that has been with you many time.

The hardest thing so far in this course is to have tha assigments and journals done before the due date. It would be easier if I would not work but it is. Job steals hours and hours of your time. Time is a valuable resource in this country and if you do not spend it doing something competitive you are not going to succes. Also. something really difficult is to write an out line to do an essay. Imagiantion is been totally neccessary to complete a nive job. It is someting that I dont have, imagination. However, I will do my best to not fail this class and go to ENG101

Mexico - A 14-year-old boy has acknowledged killing a 4-year-old girl because the girl's father allegedly made fun of his acne. This type of tragedies have occured becuase of the adolescense problems. Wen you are a teenager every comment against you is like trying to kill you. You feel very angry if somebody says something about you. Maybe you are not like that but that is what adolescense make you feel. In that age your body and your thinking changing very fast so that make you more agressive. In contrast, some youngers feel sad about bad comments and they try to take revange against it. That is waht happened with this guy.

Wesley Clark is a retired four-star general in the U.S. Army. He spent thirty-four years in the Army and the Department of Defense, receiving many military decorations, several honorary knighthoods, and a Presidential Medal of Freedom. I do no t know what makes the people stay in the ARMY for so long. I would prefer stay out of it and enjoy more my life. Our life is too short to spend it only in one place doing the same things. I know the ARMY offers you many opportunities to keep studying. But, when do you finish your studies, after 20 years. I do not like that. I want to finish my career the soon as possible then study a master. This way you can have enough time to achieve more goals.

I am doing better every single day I guess. I can see that my writting skills are more understandable. Every day I learned something new even I dont notice it. I like this class a lot due to we need to write a lot. Writting is very important if you are looking for a job. People easily can notice your educational background. Now, I am thinking on read more books. This helps me much on my writtings skills.

Write an essay is the herdest thing in this class. It is really difficult to think about many ideas in a simple subject. Sometimes I need to keep thinking all an entire hour.

Pizza Patron will continue accepting pesos

This is a promotion that a Pizza restaurant is been doing since January. It started as way for Hispanic get rid of their Mexican money as they coming back from Mexico. It supposed to last only two months. But now the ownwers see this program as a positive option. The sales raised fifty percent higher than last year. I can see that this restaurant is been beneficiated with this so, I do not see anything wrong with it. If they have neccessary right to keep saling like that, I do not see any problem. I think this program will keep doing well forever.

Last Saturday I spent the day doing my homework. I woke up at ten and started to do it. It was five PM when I went to my cousin's house. He said he wanted to go to the movies and I agreed. The day was cold so he was wearing jacket and pants. We bought tickets to see Ghost Rider movie and went inside the audio. At the end of the movie we went to take a look of the stores and watch the shoes. We went to virgin store to buy a couple of movies to watch them in home. We got home and cooked popcorns ans sat and watch I Robot. My cousin fell asleep in an hour and I stayed watching both movies.

Tropical Depression One in June 1992 produced 100-year floods in portions of southwestern Florida.

This kind of disasaters occur every where around the world. It affecting the people's way of life. It causes a lot of damage and costs a lot of money to the goverment and civilians. Disasters like this will be continuning until we meke the desicion to change our habits, Do not contaminate our world any more. The pollution is destoyind the ozone layer. it cause that the sun rays hit directly the earth. Then , it makes wram the earth. This warm makes the weather to change and cause disasters like this. In short, floods will be keep happening until we change our minds.

Shade Canopies at Basha's becoming hot commodity

In my opinion, this type of buildings will have a good result in our community. There looks really necessary. In the summer the temperatures are so high, and the the interior of the cars gets very hot. You cannot even seat because you you fell it buerns your skin. Now with a shade over your car the sun wont hit it and it wont get that hot. Altohgh it will cost a lot, I think it will be a good deal.

Something that I noticed about me today is that my hair grows to fast. I got my last hair cut like three weeks ago before the school start and now I have it long again. I think it started since I moved here to The Unites States. I do not know why maybe is the food that has a lot of vitamins. I have curly hair and once I have it long I do not like how it looks. Also the way the barber cut my hair is kind of different. Also since I moved I use to cut my hair shorter so I do not have to brush it very often. I will need to cut my hair like every month now on. Here, I do not like to have long hair because of the hot weather in summer. I t makes you swear a lot. But however that is what I noticed about my self this morning.

The plan I came up recently was to do some homework in the lunch time in the Job. I though it was a good plan but it wasn’t at all. First, there is not enough time even to make to do an assignment from the book. Second, there is a lot noise because there are four TVs on. Third, I get a lot of distraction from the coworkers that sometimes invite to sit in their table and enjoy the lunch with them. Last and most important is because I do the homework very fast, I made a lost of mistakes and is not ell done. However, I will keep doing it although I do a little bit. It is better than nothing.

Journal # 13

My favorite commercial was on TV in Mexico. This commercial is about a famous kind of soda. It is call “Manzanita Sol” which in English means Apple Sun. First appears a young man in class giving a soda to his teacher in 1960. Then other lady is giving a soda to her teacher in the classroom. It supposes to be in 1970. Then another guy is giving another soda but now in 1980. The same thing happens but in different year, since 1960 to 2000. So the commercial tells you how old and is still one of the most favorites. What I like about the commercial is the background of the classroom. Also the different kind of cloths they used in every decade. They appear wearing the old black jackets from he 70’s and the different color hair from the 90’s. It was one of my best commercial I ever seen.

Dems in Legislature write to Bush opposing surge.
This article is about the Democrats who sent a letter to Bush objection to take more troops to Iraq. They said is a term of lost of lives and money. The war had cost to Arizona more 5.2 million dollars only since September. I think is really true what the Democrats say about the war in Iraq. I do no t have any smart reason why Bush have American soldiers in Iraq. We know that they want to convert Iraq into a Democratic country but besides that there is no other reason. Maybe is true what the people said about the great quantity of oil in Iraq. The reason why America went there was the oil. They want to have the oil. However, I agree that soldiers have to come back home and live on peace forever.

This article is about an airplane called the F-15D Eagle that is used for the war. This fast plane only is used for conflicts goals like war and other missions. The author says that The United States of America is the number one producer of this big machine. What I think is why the government still use a lot of our money producing arms for war. We have a war right now but are not that big. Instead of make better arms; they should spend the money improving the education for young people. America only think how get more territory and how to be the richest country. We are living many things behind us like how to finish with drugs or crime. Also we need to make looks better our cities like in Europe. Also have a solution for the pollution that is destroying our beautiful planet. We need to think more about our future not how to kill our selves.

Once my cousin dared to change the flat tire of his car by my self. We were driving to home in Mexico when suddenly. We noticed the tire blow out and pull off the side out of the road. He had already showed me how to do it but I did not pay much attention and it was something I have never tried. So I started taking out the jack and the tools to take off the flat and install the other one. I was surprise of my self because I did it well after all. But at end my cousin told me that I took long doing that. The hardest part is finding a flat land where you can out the jack. If you do not put it right the car could fall and cause a fatal accident. At the end we got in the car and go home.

I think I am not doing very well in this course. First the homework is very hard to do it when you work on weekdays. We have to do Journals every day and sometimes do essays. When I am in class I cannot do the journals. Also we have to answer the practices from the book in which you spend time copy them to the word. The only thing I have to do is do all the homework on weekends before the week start but is something. I need to spend any free time doing homework or studying so I can do better in college. And I hpe I can pass this class.

The most spectacular I have been in is Mexico City. The city is the biggest all around the world. I went there when I was 10 years old I am still remember how fast the people go from one place to other. The subway is a fast transport that most of the people use. It is call the METRO. Once are you ready to get into, you needed to do it fast because the metro’s doors close in a determined time. Inside, the people are standing unless you find a sit. Most of the time you don’t because is crowded. Is awesome how many cars you can find. The traffic conditions are horrible. The city buses are full and very small. The city is dirty and has lot of pollution. You find people walking on the sidewalks, parks, bus stations, and small stores. Although is a big city it has also many beautiful places like the Chapultepec Castle, The “Vsilica” is a big church where the Virgin Maria is. Also we can visit the “Zocalo” where the President lives. Finally I was not very happy to been in the biggest City in the world.

Soldier’s post card to sweetheart arrives 92 years later.
I cannot believe that the post office could do lost a post card and found it 92 years later. It is impossible. But anyways I do not know why the company still sent the post card to the address. May be they though that the sweetheart would be still alive. They should not send the card. It is like making fun of the soldier. However the soldier is dead and never knew where the post was. Maybe he dead thinking that her sweetheart received the post.

-6 schools lock down after a robbery-
Two men demanded money from two people in the parking lot. I t makes the police to close the 6 school arund it and release the students.
The first reason why this occur is because people here in America are able to use this type of guns.Even a kid can use them with out any permission. This are not real guns but it could be very dangerous if you use them. The goverment should not allow to any people to use arms. If we still using arms, we wil have many more incidents like this. So is u p to the goverment to make a change as soon as possible.

I think my communication skills are the facility to show somebody how to do something or how to fix it. First I was not able to speak English but I fell confident to speak to any person. Sometimes I do not know how to express what I want to say because of my vocabulary. The communication skills are very important because when you meet somebody.

Now on days the opportunity for people who has not gone to University is really poor. You cannot get the job you are expecting to earn money. Also I like to study that way I would be a better person in the society. The Knowledge is a tool that nobody can steal from you. Once you reach your goals you feel that you can compete with any individual who has both, studies and mature. Here in the United States there are a lot of opportunities to all students like me. If you do not have enough money just do your best in college and they will give you scholarships to help you. Other option is to ask for financial aid from your college and if you apply for it you will receive certain amount of money. Once you are taking a degree in science, arts, math, and business etc. you can look for it on line in many Universities webs. If you do not know what how to get money for your studies just visit an advisor an they will help you finding the necessary resources. Only try to study something that you like if you do not do that you would never like to work every day that you have to.

Not really, I have heard that famous people have a lot of stressful times every day and that they do not have a private life. But it could be awesome that all people admire you. Another really good thing is the money. Always is good to have sufficient money to pay your bills and taxes. With these entire positive things I would not like to be a famous person. I prefer that no body know my private life. I would like just have money but that not body know about me except my family and friends.
